Rust red cover with black dentille and steerhead design and gilt title on front. Black title on spine. Some shelfwear and spotting (mildew?) on cover. Green basketweave design endpapers. Former owner signature on free endpaper with date Sept. 26, 1908. Sketches of pioneers and memoirs of family. Much on Dallas, Dallas county and surrounding towns and personalities. Lists of officials, patriotic poems and illustrations, both photo and line drawings. 322 pages plus an errata sheet bound in at the end. History as seen by one who lived it, emigrating into the Peters Colony, Dallas County in 1848.

Rotan, Texas Feather Press First Faux Leather Fine No Jacket as Issued Book 
Tan leather look binding with black titles and branding scene on front. Two parts, the first about the ranch and Fisher county and the second a memoir of Sidney W. Bryan. The 18 ranch at one time covered most of Fisher county and parts of Scurry and Nolan Counties of Texas. Notes the influence of oil development.
