Dark green cloth binding, marbled edges and endpapers. Uniform volumes about 8 1/2 X 11 inches. Edited with additions, particularly of documents, by Eugene C. Barker, assisted by state librarian Ernest W. Winkler. This documentary history contains a wealth of information about early Texas. The final three volumes contain biographical sketches of notable, and some perhaps not so notable Texans. Very light edgewear and a couple of scratches on spines, but this is a very good set, seldom found intact.

Dark red cloth with small scuff at top of spine, and a few light spots on cover. Book is very good internally, bright and tight. Titles on spine faded. Errata note pasted in on title page, apparently as issued. Four "Research Lectures" delivered at the University of Texas and the fifth a paper read st the American Historical Association. Barker gives a more balanced view of the causes of the Texas revolution than did those who wrote before him. No. 8 of Basic Texas Books.
